What is Active Directory, and does a small business need it?
In short
Active Directory is a Microsoft directory service that keeps user accounts, computers and access rules in one place. It becomes useful when you have a server, several shared resources and staff who need different permissions.
Not always needed
Smaller teams that work mainly in cloud tools such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace may not need an on-premises directory. We can review your setup and tell you honestly which fits.
